Nahzatullah Reyazat

Senior Expert Researcher and Lawyer

Nahzatullah Reyazat is a Senior Expert Researcher and Lawyer based in Afghanistan and a member of the Afghanistan Independent Bar Association. He has more than ten years of legal practice experience, specialising in human rights and family law, including representing and advocating for appellants in Afghan courts.

He has worked with NGOs in Afghanistan as a legal adviser and human-rights defender, and has supported research, monitoring and evaluation of human-rights projects. He has also worked at community level as a conflict mediator.

Nahzatullah holds a BA in Law and Political Science from Kabul University and has completed law and judiciary training. He has also completed short-term programmes with organisations including the Human Rights Institute and the Afghanistan Centre for Commercial Dispute Resolution (ACDR). He is fluent in Dari, Pashto and English.
